The story of Vikas Singh and his startup, Fitpage, is truly awe-inspiring. Hailing from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, Vikas faced numerous challenges growing up. His family's income was based on their ability to collect cow dung and barter crops, leaving them struggling to afford even two meals a day. But Vikas and his younger brother refused to let their circumstances hold them back.
At just 13 and 10 years old, Vikas and his brother left their hometown to attend secondary school in Pratapgarh. While his brother stayed in a lodge, Vikas worked odd jobs to support himself and focus on his studies. Eventually, he went on to study at Allahabad University, where he honed his skills in various professional sports games and learned Hindi at the age of 16 and English at 22. His brother, Vivek Singh, became a police officer, further inspiring Vikas to strive for success.
Despite securing a job as a security officer at Reliance Mumbai, Vikas knew he wanted more. He took it upon himself to learn English and basic computer skills, which proved to be a game-changer when he landed a role at Goldman Sachs in 2007. The company not only provided him with a decent salary but also supported him in securing a full scholarship for his MBA at Chicago Booth School from 2014 to 2016.
With this newfound knowledge and experience, Vikas went on to work as a senior executive officer at APGlobal for three years before finally realizing his dream of starting his own venture - Fitpage. The startup is designed to help people stay fit through online fitness coaching, offering features related to fitness, nutrition, and hygiene all in one place. And it's not just talk - Fitpage has already worked with over 1000 people at a membership price of Rs. 5000 per month.
But Fitpage is more than just a business - it's a testament to the human spirit of perseverance and determination. Even during the pandemic, Fitpage organized five fitness events every Sunday, with huge participation from runners and walkers alike. The events were even held virtually, with people pushing through injuries and fatigue to keep themselves healthy.
As the fitness industry continues to grow, Fitpage is poised to make a significant impact. According to Statista, the fitness segment market has a potential of $2.15 billion in 2021, with an expected annual growth rate of 2.68 percent from 2021 to 2024. By 2024, the projected market potential is $2.3 billion. And with Vikas Singh at the helm, there's no doubt that Fitpage will continue to inspire countless others to pursue their dreams, no matter how challenging the journey may be.
The story of Fitpage is a true testament to the power of resilience and grit. It shows us that no matter where we come from, we have the power to make a difference in the world. So let's take a page out of Vikas Singh's book and strive to achieve our goals, no matter how impossible they may seem. After all, as Vikas himself has proven, anything is possible with hard work, dedication, and a little bit of courage.
